There are upsides and downsides of this 1970s modernist lakeside house designed by Royston Summers in Esher, Surrey.
We feature this modernist house as Lakeside Drive, as always, is a very popular area. Lakeside Drive is a cul-de-sac that was built in 1970s and consists of 15 residences, all of them built around a magnificent ornamental lake; a landscape of the Milbourne House gardens.
The houses structures have only changed a little; you can see many traces of modernism of 1970s on the outside; it’s inside the house a lot of changes are found.
Now this particular house has been definitely updated; as a matter of fact, the house looks have been through several renovation process throughout the years.
The main selling points are definitely the architecture as well as location of the house. But the house has great designs of indoor area as well; it has a dining room with open room style, as well as a reception room that has glass staircase.
On the second floor, you’ll find a big main bedroom with en-suite bathroom and dressing area; the bathroom includes a Jacuzzi and sinks. There’s also a bedroom suite for guest with shower room and dressing room, and also two extra bedrooms as well as a common bathroom.
On the outside, there’s a twin garage, a swimming pool, as well as a terrace area that can be used for family or entertainment event.
This magnificent 1970s modernist Lakeside house is a bit pricey though with the £2,100,000 of price slap on it. But with its great architecture (designed by Royston Summers) and its prime location, it’s totally worth the price.
